Custom Tripod

I've been looking for the right tripod - for the right price - for a while now.  While this project will put some of my machining skills to the test, it will definitely be worth it.   My friend, Spencer, and I are currently in the design phase and looking to machine one for each of us in our spare time.

Cam Clasps

These cam clasps will make it easy to adjust the height of the carbon fiber legs.  The ring and thumb press will be machined from aluminum and then we plan on sending the parts out to be anodized.

So many tripods out there are just too heavy. Using carbon fiber will help reduce the load. While this makes it slightly more expensive, it is still less than anything on the market.

The "Spider" center connector, as we call it, is the main hub of the tripod.  It holds the spring-loaded angle adjusters and center tube, which is held in place by the tappered locking ring.
